Katie Holmes Bans Cosmetics, High Heels and Expensive Designer Clothes from Daughter Suri’s Wardrobe

b_0_75_16777215_00_images_katie-holmes-suri-cruise.jpgNow that she’s separated from husband Tom Cruise, who is allegedly responsible for their daughter Suri’s extravagant wardrobe, Katie Holmes is set on taking the little fashionista’s dress style down a notch and make her adopt a more conservative look. Thus, the former Dawson’s Creek alum has banned all cosmetics, the legendary high heels and any and all gifts coming from famous fashion houses from her daughter’s wardrobe, in an attempt to make her dress like a normal 6-year-old does.

“Katie has been returning unsolicited gifts and loans from designers for Suri since she arrived in New York, which is to be her home base now, far away from Tom,” a source commented. “She's issued instructions to remove Suri from all freebie lists. She's also put the word out in LA to stop any mini-me diva products being sent her way.”

Apparently it was Tom who spoiled Suri and indulged her whenever he could, allowing her to wear makeup and expensive designer clothes. But now that he and Katie have parted ways, the actress is intent on changing her daughter’s wardrobe, which is estimated at a whopping $3 million, as well as her dress style, often reason for controversy on whether or not it was appropriate for little girls.

“All that inappropriate dress up and make-up was down to Tom and Katie's key word now when it comes to Suri is 'normal',” the insideer further revealed. “Tom loved to spoil Suri and indulge her, but Katie has other ideas.”

And the cherry on the cake: word has it that Suri is going to a strict Catholic school this September. If that ain’t a slap in Katie’s Scientologist ex-husband’s face, then I don’t know what is. (Photo via Entertainmentwise)
