After years of playing brooding vampire Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga, Robert Pattinson is ready to move on to more consistent, diverse and challenging roles. What’s more, it seems Rob’s also tired of being the good guy, which is why he really wants to play a villain, and not just any kind of villain but a serial killer mind you.

“Robert is excited about moving on to other more diverse roles after Twilight and playing a villain is very appealing to him,” a source close to the actor says. “One character he is fascinated with would see him playing a serial killer while there are others for villainous characters in major Hollywood blockbusters as well as an indie movie. Robert wants to show he has range to his acting and doesn’t want to be typecast as the hero or heartthrob.”

And speaking of being typecast, a little while ago Rob was saying it would take him ten years to get out from under the shadow of the character that turned him into an idol and for people to stop associating him with the franchise that propelled him to superstardom.
