I wonder what’s with all these celebrity connections that keep popping up lately. Must be something in the air because, just earlier today we heard Johnny Depp might be related to the British Royal Family and here comes another report claiming Lady Gaga and Madonna share the same ancestor.
“They are ninth cousins once removed. When I saw that Lady Gaga had French Canadian ancestry I thought there might be something there,” Boston celebrity genealogist Chris Child said, after he discovered that both Madonna (Louise Veronica Ciccone) and Lady Gaga (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) are descendant of a French immigrant couple who arrived in Quebec in the 1600s.
Between the particular fashion sense, the controversial shows and the actual music they make, it’s not hard to blame the involuntary associations between the two pop divas on a common lineage. (Photo via Zeibiz)
