Taylor Swift Releases 'Mine' Video

b_0_75_16777215_00_images_taylor-swift-1.jpgTaylor Swift has just released the video for Mine, the first single taken from her latest album, Speak Now, and, in keeping with the singer’s older videos, this new one depicts a beautiful love story too. However, in the context of the theme of her new album which, per the singer’s words, highlights her “tendency to run from love,” it has a happy ending.

The video tells the story of a young girl (Swift) who meets a college student who waits tables part time (Feast of Love actor Toby Hemingway) and pictures how their life together would turn out, all the while fearing that they would make the same mistakes her parents did and end up fighting all the time with her eventually running out the door. However, in her fantasy when she runs into the street Hemingway follows her – as opposed to her father who let her mother go – and they make up and live happily ever after.

Swift picked Hemingway herself to play her love interest in the video – admittedly according to some rather unconventional criteria – and word on the street has it that he took his paramour role off-screen too although there’s no confirmation of the two actually dating. Regardless, they do look good together onscreen, there’s no denying that.

Speak Now is scheduled to hit the shelves on October 25. Enjoy the Mine video below and let us know what you think of it. (Photo via The Wolf)
